What to Expect
Your First Appointment
Your first appointment will be approximately 90 minutes. Chinese Medicine requires an extensive intake in order to fully understand your current state of health and based on these findings, I will create a treatment plan to help you regain your balance.
Other modalities such as Tui Na, herbal recommendations, cupping, and moxibustion may be used based on the individual’s needs. Depending on the condition and goals of treatment, I also incorporate diet, exercise, lifestyle, and supplement recommendations in order to work towards optimal health and prevention of future illness.
Follow Up Appointments
Every visit will be different according to how your symptoms are changing and improving. In Chinese Medicine we call this "chasing the dragon". Usually subsequent visits last approximately one hour, but this can also fluctuate depending where you are in your healing process and what treatment is needed.
You may be asked to partially disrobe. In this case, towels, gowns, or other appropriate draping will be provided. If you prefer, you may bring loose fitting shorts and/or t-shirt to change into for your treatment.
Always eat something before you come to an acupuncture appointment. Though the process seems subtle, it is quite powerful and can require a lot from your body.
